Jo Van Fleet (1919 - 1996)
American character actress based in New York. Jo Van
Fleet was known for her potrayal of abrasive, coarse
women. Jo Van Fleet first made a name for her self as
a character actress on Broadway. In 1954, she won a
Best Featured Actress Tony Award for her performance
in Horton Foote's "The Trip to Bountiful."
