Christopher Walken (1943 - )
Born Ronald Walken of imigrant parents. Christopher
Walken began performing at a very young age, for
his mother was a member of The Stage Mother's Society,
and began to bring Ronald and his two brothers to
auditions when they were very small. By the early
1950's, the three boys attended the Professional
Children's School in New York and were regularing
appearing on television variety shows. His off-broadway
debut was at age 15 in the play J.B.
Christopher Walken attended Hofstra University
for one year, but then dropped out. Over the next
few years he primarily in theatre musicals such
as Best Foot Forward, West Side Story;
(during its production, he met and married his wife),
and Baker Street. At age 22 he changed his
name to Christopher.
Walken made his film debut in at age 25, and was
very memorable in small parts in such films as Annie
Hall (as Diane Keaton's creepy brother) and
in The Anderson Tapes. In the majority of
his films, Walken usually plays either evil, or
psychologically unbalanced characters. Christopher
Walken has hosted SNL five times . Some of his recent
films include Pulp Fiction (1994), Sleepy
Hollow (1999), and America's Sweethearts
(2001).
