Peter Ustinov (1921 - 2004)
British actor, director, and screenwriter Peter
Ustinovmade his stage debut at 17, wrote his first
play at 24 and directed his first picture at 25.
He went on to be the author of over 30 plays, screenplays,
and books. In fact, in 1968 Peter Ustinov was nominated
for his screenplay titled: HOT MILLIONS. He won
critical acclaim for writing, directing, producing
and acting in his film Billy Bud in 1962.
Peter Ustinov excelled at playing pompous, vain
characters. He played French detective,Poirot, in
several Agatha Christie movies and was slotted to
play Peter Seller's role in The Pink Panther
(1962) before he backed out .
Peter Ustinov was nominated in 1951, for QUO VADIS.
