Donald Crisp (1880 - 1974)
Distinguished Oxford educated British actor who
started worked in Hollywood from 1906 (some directing
credits) but concentrated on character acting from
1930 to his death. All in all, Donald Crisp has
appeared in over 400 films.Crisp is one of the movie
industry's true pioneers, active on both sides of
the camera, working alongside such legends as D.W.
Griffth, Lillian Gish and Buster Keaton.
Donald Crisp had supporting roles in such movies
as National Velvet, Jezebel, Mutiny on the Bounty
(1935), and Wuthering Heights (1939).
