Will Ferrell (1967 - )

Will Ferrell was born on July 16, 1967 in Irvine, California.

Sometimes Will Ferrell is credited as Phil Reston. His actual birth name is John William Ferrell. Ferrell's father, Lee, was a longtime keyboardist and saxophonist for the Righteous Brothers. When Will Ferrell was in high school, hel made the daily morning announcements over the public access system in disguised voices. This is how he first became interested in performing.

TV has been very sucessful for Will Ferrell having appeared on several programs, including STRANGERS WITH CANDY, GRACE UNDER FIRE, and LIVING SINGLE. Starting in 1995 Will Ferrell appeared in every Saturday Night Live movie since his premiere on the show. He left the show in 2002 to pursue his acting. Known as the greatest SNL cast member ever, during his seven year run he is one of the few cast members to ever be nominated for an Emmy for a performance and played George W. Bush during the 2000 elections.

Will Ferrell was voted the 3rd funniest person in America by Entertainment Weekly. In 2004 Will Ferrell was ranked #51 in Premiere's Power 100 List, this was a first time for Will.

Will Ferrell ia a member of, what the media refers to as, The Frat Pack, along with Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, and Luke Wilson. The "Frat Pack name in a reference to the film, OLD SCHOOL (2003), featuring Vaughn, Ferrell and Luke Wilson, due to the wide number of films featuring the six actors. Ferrell's "Frat Pack" films include ZOOLANDER (2001), ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND OF RON BURGUNDY (2004), and STARSKY & HUTCH (2004).

Will and his wife, Viv, ran the Boston Marathon on April 21, 2003. his official time was 4 hours, 2 minutes, and 29 seconds. Back in 2001 they ran in the New York City Marathon, finishing together in 5 hours, 1 minute and 56 seconds.

In the movie KINGPIN, Will Ferrell can be heard in the background during the final bowling scene between Bill Murray and Woody Harrelson's characters yelling, "Ernie, you're the man!" Will also brought to life the animated character of the arm- less and leg-less dad of cartoon family THE OBLONGS.
