Vic Morrow (1929 - 1982)

In The Bronx, New York on February 14, 1929, Vic Morrow was born. He was of Russian Ancestry.

Vic Morrow died on July 23, 1982 in Indian Dunes, California. He was in a helicopter accident while filming TWILIGHT ZONE.  He was killed with two child actors.

At 17, Vic Morrow dropped out of high school to join the US Navy. After serving his term, he went to Florida State to study law.  While at college, he was in several plays and decided he liked acting better than law. Shortly thereafter, Vic Morrow went to New York and enrolled in an Actor's
Workshop. He graduated and was cast in the Summer Stock Production of A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE.

Barbara Turner married Vic Morrow in 1957 but were later divorced in 1964. They has two daughters, Carrie Ann Morrow who was the Tech Adviser for the production of GEORGIA, and Jennifer Jason Leigh who starred in FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH. Vic Morrow was married to Gale Morrow in 1975 and was divorced in 1976.

Vic Morrow's screen debut came when he signed with MGM Studios in 1955 and played in BLACKBOARD JUNGLE. He played several other parts but became tired of playing the "heavy". Vic Morrow went back to school at USC and studied Directing.

The 1962 TV series, COMBAT, made Vic Morrow a star. The hit eries lasted through 1965.
