Tobey Maguire was born on June 27, 1975 in Santa Monica,
California.
In the 9th grade Tobey Maguire quit school to pursued child
actor roles. He did several commercials and bit roles on TV
shows.
For the role of SPIDER-MAN Tobey Maguire had to gain weight,
then for SEABISCUIT he had to lose 25 pounds to fit his role
as Red Pollard. Often portraying heroes that are close to
animals or creatures.
In CATS & DOGS, Tobey Maguire provided the voice of Lou the
Beagle in which he saves the world from cats; in SPIDER-MAN,
he was bitten by a spider that gave him abilities to fight
crime; in SEABISCUIT, he played Red Pollard, a jockey that
rode a winning horse to victory.
On October 27, 2004 Tobey Maguire played in the World Series
of Poker, at the Hollywood Park Casino in Los Angeles, taking
a first prize of $95,480.
