Sandra Oh was born on November 30, 1970 in Nepean, Ontario,
Canada. In London is were Sandra Oh got her start in a stage
production of David Mamet's OLEANNA.
In 1993 Sandra Oh beat out over 1000 people for the title
character in the Canadian television production THE DIARY
OF EVELYN LAU. In the late 90s Sandra Oh was a member of a National Champion
Canadian Improv Team at The Canadian Improv Games.
Sandra Oh played the pregnant, lesbian best friend of a woman who has just purchased a dilapidated, rustic country house in Italy, played by Diane Lane, in UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN [2003]. Also in 2003, Sandra Oh married writer-director Alexander Payne. Their first film together was the Oscar-winning SIDEWAYS, where she played a supporting role.
From 2005 to 2011, Sandra Oh played an MD on the popular television drama, GREY'S ANATOMY, for which she has been nominated 5 years in a row for an Emmy.
