Sally Field won her second Oscar for playing a widowed mother, of two, who's pressured by the bank to sell her property. 

ABOUT SALLY FIELD (1946 - )

American television actress, born in Pasadena California. Sally Field started out playing cute and perky in the television series, GIDGET from 1965-66, and THE FLYING NUN, 1967-70. 

Field next found more deeply textured roles as SYBIL, a 1976 television movie in which she played a tormented character with multiple personality disorder, opposite Joanne Woodward as her psychiatrist.  Sally Field won an Academy Award for her portrayal of fiery union organizer NORMA RAE in 1979.

Sally Field played a newspaper reporter leaking false information, opposite Paul Newman, in Sydney Pollack's ABSENCE OF MALICE.   Field played a widowed Depression farmer who toughs her family through hard times.  She won a second Academy Award for Best Actress for her role.

 In 1985, she played James Garner's love interest in the comedy, MURPHY'S ROMANCE.

Sally Field played the ex-wife and mother in MRS. DOUBTFIRE, a 1993 comedy, in which her ex-husband disguises himself as a grandmotherly baby sitter, in order to spend more time with his own children.  In 1994, Field played the mother of the simple, but lucky title character in FORREST GUMP.

In the long running television series BROTHERS AND SISTERS, 2006-2011 she is part of the ensemble cast.
