About Ray Liotta (1955 - )
Ray Liotta was born on December 18, 1955 in Newark, New Jersey.
Ray was adopted when he was 6 months old, from a New Jersey orphanage by small business entreprenuers, Alfred and Mary Liotta. His parents also adopted Ray's sister, letting then 3 year old Ray help to choose her.
In 1989 Ray Liotta had an attention grabbing role as Shoeless
Joe Jackson in FIELD OF DREAMS.
Specializing in psychopathic characters, Ray Liotta always can
hide behind a cultivated charm. In Ray Liotta's first year of
acting, he landed a role on the day time soap: ANOTHER WORLD.
Ray Liotta made his first
big-screen impact as Melanie Griffith's ex in Jonathan Demme's
road comedy, SOMETHING WILD, in 1986.
In Martin Scorsese's film, Ray Liotta was a gangster who turned canary,
Henry Hill, in GOODFELLAS (1990).
For his role in NARC (2002),
Ray Liotta had to gain about 20 pounds and wear lifts to appear
more imposing and bear-like while playing Henry Oak.
