About Paul Rudd (1969 –)

Paul Rudd was born on April 6, 1969, in Passaic, New Jersey, the son of Jewish immigrants from England. His father was an American, but his mother was British. Original family name was Rudnitzky, but his grandfather shortened it to Rudd.

Sometimes Paul Rudd is credited as Kenny Chin and Paul Stephen Rudd.

Paul Rudd graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts/West in Los Angeles. Then, he participated in a three-month intensive workshop, under the guidance of Michael Kahn, at the British Drama Academy at Oxford University in England. The Globe Theater's production of Howard Brenton's Bloody Poetry, starred Rudd as Percy Bysshe Shelley. Paul also helped produce this production.

Before his career took off and he was a struggling actor, he made ends meet by working as a DJ at Bar Mitzvahs.

In 1992, Paul Rudd was cast in the leading role, playing protagonist Kenny Chin, in A Question Of Ethics, his first movie.

After several TV movies in 1993 and 1994, Paul landed a role in a 1994 TV Series, Wild Oats, playing Brian Grant.

In 1995 Paul was noticed in Clueless, a modern remake of Jane Austin's Emma, playing the supporting role of Josh, step-brother of the heroine, Cher Horowitz, who was portrayed by Alicia Silverstone.

Prior to joining the cast of Friends in 2002 -'04, Paul Rudd co-starred with Jennifer Aniston in The Object Of My Affection (1998), and played Lt. Wally Worthington in The Cider House Rules.

In 2003, Paul married the love of his live, Julie Yaeger, and they have one child, Jack, who was born in 2006.

From 2006-2007, Paul Rudd played a supporting role, Guy Gerricault, in the hit comedy series, Reno 911!
