Nick Stahl was born on December 5, 1979 in Harlingen, Texas. He began acting in 1991.
THE MAN WITHOUT A FACE in 1993 was Nick Stahl breakthrough
role. He played alongside Mel Gibson, who personally chose Nick
for the role.
In 1998, he played a small role in Terrance Malick's war drama, THE THIN RED LINE. Next, he played a man dating a woman with the "ex" from hell in the crime drama, IN THE BEDROOM [2001]. In the 2003 TERMINATOR 3, he portrayed the futuristic rebel leader, John Connor, who is protected by Arnold Schwartznegger's cyborg against the rampage of a female Terminator.
Nick Stahl also played Roark, Jr./Yellow Bastard in the crime thriller, SIN CITY [2005], directed by Frank Miller, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. He shot for 5 days, covered in prosthetics. Of his experience, he said, " I don't ever want to wear that many prosthetics again in my life! It was miserable. Not only grueling time-wise to put it on - but, you know, just sitting there in it. It's stiflingly hot, you can't move. You feel like you're stuck together."'
Of his choice of working on gritty films, Stahl commented, "I try to avoid the sweet-ass roles. "
