Marlene Dietrick was born on December 27, 1901 in Berlin-Schoneberg,
Germany. Marlene Dietrick passed away on May 6, 1992 in Paris
France from kidney failure.
Marlene entered the cabaret scene in 1920s Germany, first
as a spectator then as a cabaret singer.
In 1923 Dietrick debut in her first screen role, in THE LITTLE
NAPOLEON Marlene's final film appearances were cameos in PARIS
WHEN IT SIZZLES (1964) and JUST A GIGOLO(1979).
Dietrick received the U.S. War Department's 'Medal of Freedom',
in 1947, for entertaining American troops in WWII and her
strong stand against Naziism.
In 1995 Marlene Dietrickwas chosen by Empire magazine as
one of the 100 Sexiest Stars in film history (#60). Dietrick
was voted the 43rd Greatest Movie Star of all time by Entertainment
Weekly.
Dietrick would sucked lemon wedges between takes to keep
her mouth muscles tight. At Marlene's last ever last stage
appearance. she fell and broke her left leg in Sydney, Australia,
September 1975.
