Leslie Caron was born on July 1, 1931 in Boulogne-Billancourt,
Paris, France. Leslie Caron was spotted by Gene Kelly when
she was dancing in the Ballets des Champs-Elysées then scouting
Paris for a leading lady to appear opposite him AN AMERICAN
IN PARIS.
In 1953, Leslie Caron earned a Best Oscar Nomination for
her role in LILI. For her costume in the 1955 DADDY LONG LEGS
Leslie Caron wanted to create her own costumes. Fred Astaire
told her: "OK, but no feather, please".
Caron and her daughter, Jennifer Hall, co-starred on an episode
of THE LOVE BOAT (1977).
In 1980 Leslie Caron was a Member of jury at the Cannes Film
Festival.
