Laura Dern was born on February 10, 1967 in Los Angeles, California.

Laura is the daughter of actor Bruce Dern and actress Diane Ladd.

Laura appeared with her mom Diane in WHITE LIGHTNING (1973) and ALICE DOESN'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE (1974) Dern's official screen debut was in FOXES (1980).

At the age of 13 Laura Dern was cast in LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, THE FABULOUS STAINS, but hermother Diane Ladd her mother refused to let her go, Laura sued for emancipation and won. Laura and Diane became the first mother and daughter to earn simultaneous Oscar nominations.

Dern's most memorable role was in JURASSIC PARK.
