Kurt Russell was born in Massachusetts.
Appeared in many Disney films as a child and young man.
In 1960, Walt Disney himself signed Kurt Russell to a 10
year contract, when the contact was over Russell went on to
play baseball.
In the early 1970s Kurt Russell played minor baseball, 2nd
base, AA club- California Angels until a torn shoulder muscle
forced retirement in 1973.
In 1983 Kurt Russell met Goldie Hawn when they worked together
on SWING SHIFT.
At the young age of 10 Kurt Russell landed a part in the
Elvis movie, IT HAPPENED AT THE WORLD'S FAIR this would be
his debut role. He later went on to play Elvis in the 1979
television film ELVIS, and to provide his voice in FORREST
GUMP.
The Snake Plissken Chronicles published in 2003, was based
on Kurt Russell character Snake Plissken In ESCAPE FROM NEW
YORK in 1981. Published by the CrossGen imprint Code 6 Comics.
Russell was one of the first actors to do audio commentary
on DVDs.
In the 1981 film ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, Kurt Russell was inspired
by the presence of Lee Van Cleef to talk in a raspy voice
similar to Clint Eastwood's from THE MAN WITH NO NAME TRILOGY.
He and longtime companion Goldie Hawn both appeared in THE
ONE AND ONLY, OVERBOARD, GENUINE, ORIGINAL FAMILY BAND, and
SWING SHIFT together.
During the 1980's, Kurt Russell had a few box office flops
in movies like THE BEST OF TIMES, BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA
and WINTER PEOPLE.
Kurt Russell was portrayed a cult classic heroe in four different
movies: ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK (1981), THE
THING (1982), STARGATE (1994) and ESCAPE FROM L.A. (1996).
During the filming of 3000 MILES TO GRACELAND (2001) in Vancouver,
Kurt Russell visited the nearby set of STARGATE SG-1 and met
the cast, Russell starred as Colonel Jack O'Neil in the original
STARGATE.
