Kathleen Quinlan was born on November
19, 1954 in Pasadena, California.
In 1972, Quinlan had her first feature
role in ONE IS A LONELY NUMBER.
Kathleen Quinlan got her break in acting
when George Lucas came to her high school to cast for
his movie AMERICAN GRAFFITI (1973). In 1976 Kathleen won
her first lead role in the LIFEGUARD. As Marilyn Lovell,
Kathleen Quinlan had her breakthrough performance in 1994,
in the Oscar-winning APOLLO 13 (1995).
Kathleen Quinlan earned great acclaim
for her skillful performance as a teenaged schizophrenic
in I NEVER PROMISED YOU A ROSE GARDEN (1977). In 1977,
Quinlan was listed as one of twelve "Promising New Actors
of 1977" in John Willis' Screen World, Vol. 29.
For Kathleen Quinlan's 1995 role in APOLLO
13, she was nominated for an Oscar.
In her contract for the TV series which
Kathleen Quinlan stars in FAMILY LAW (1999) stipulates
that she cannot work later than 6 PM, so she can be home
with her husband Bruce Abbott, son Tyler (b. 1990), and
step-son Dalton (b. 1989).
