About John Lithgow (1945 - )

Acclaimed American character actor, John Lithgow was born in New York, who found fame in the eighties. John earned a distinguished career on the stage on Broadway, winning a Tony Award for "The Changing Room", a second nomination in 1985 for "Requiem for a Heavyweight", and a third in 1988 for "M. Butterfly".

In 1982, John Lithgow tried his hand in films, winning an Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of Roberta Muldoon in THE WORLD ACCORDING TO GARP (1982) and for TERMS OF ENDEARMENT as well in 1983.
