Jennifer Jason Leigh was born on February 5, 1962 in
Hollywood, California.
Leigh's birth name is Jennifer Jee Morrow. Jennifer took
the name 'Jason' from family friend actor Jason Robards.
Jennifer is the daughter of actor Vic Morrow and actress-screenwriter
Barbara Turner.
Starting her acting career at 9 years old Jennifer Jason
Leigh worked in her first film, it was a nonspeaking role
for the film DEATH OF A STRANGER (1973). When she was
14, Jennifer Jason Leigh attended summer acting workshops
given by Lee Strasberg and landed a role in the Disney
TV movie THE YOUNG RUNAWAYS (1978 - TV).
In 1981 Jennifer Jason Leigh made her first major movie
with a major role as well in the film EYES OF A STRANGER.
For her role in the 1981 TV movie THE BEST LITTLE GIRL
IN THE WORLD , Jennifer Jason Leigh went down to a weight
of 86 lbs as an anorexic teenager .
Jennifer Jason Leigh first female lead came with major
success in FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH (1982).
In 1990 Jennifer Jason Leigh won two Critic Society awards
for her portrayal of Tralala in LAST EXIT TO BROOKLYN
and as Susan Waggoner in MIAMI BLUES.
