Janine Turner was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and raised in Forth Worth Texas, where she trained in dance, acting and modeling.

She played "Laura Templeton on GENERAL HOSPITAL.  Janine Turner made her film debut in 1982 with YOUNG DOCTORS IN LOVE, a parody of daytime soaps. In 1986, she played in TAI-PAN.  Janine Turner attended Pepperdine University when she was not working.

In 1990, Janine Turner began playing Alaskan pilot, "Maggie O'Connell," with Rob Morrow in the TV series, NORTHERN EXPOSURE, created by David Lynch.  The popular show ran for 6 seasons.

Janine Turner worked on a number of television movies, STOLEN WOMEN, CAPTURED HEARTS and A SECRET AFFAIR.  Turner starred in the 1997 movie reprise of a television series, LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, as "June Cleaver."

Janine Turner had a regular role on the TV series, STRONG MEDICINE, from 2000-2002.  She guest starred LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT in 2008.  Janine Turner has appeared in many feature films and TV movies.  In 2010, Turner starred in the thriller BLACK WIDOW.

As of 2004 JanineTurner is lives with her daughter on her longhorn cattle ranch outside of Dallas, Texas.

Turner in the 2008 election campaigned for vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
