About Harvey Korman (1927 - 2008)

Harvey Korman was born on February 15, 1927 in Chicago, Illinios. He known for his overdrawn, comic, sarcastic characterizations.

In 1963 Korman's first big break was as a featured performer on "The Danny Kaye Show." Harvey Korman made his feature debut in "The Last of the Secret Agents" (1966). For 10 years, he was an ensemble comedian playing in skits on the hit television series, THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW, from 1967-1977.  He left the show for his own series, THE HARVEY KORMAN SHOW, which was short lived.

Harvey Korman found a home in the irreverently comic movies of Mel Brooks, beginning with BLAZING SADDLES, a Western spoof, riddled with over-the-top cliches and stereotypes, in which he plays a greedy railroad builder.  The movie was nominated for three Oscars.

Next, Harvey Korman  played a machinating doctor in a psychiatric clinic in the Mel Brooks comedy, HIGH ANXIETY.  Korman also played in Brook's HISTORY OF THE WORLD, PART I, the irreverent redux of history.

Harvey Korman played Professor Auguste Balls in TRAIL OF THE PINK PANTHER [1982] and CURSE OF THE PINK PANTHER [1983].  He worked for another 18 years in television movies, series and films.
