Ernie Hudson was born on December 17,1945 in Benton
Harbor, Michigan. In Detroit Ernie became the resident playwright
at Concept East, the oldest Black theatre in the country.
During the Los Angeles production of Lonnie Elder's
musical DADDY GOODNESS, led to his meeting Gordon Parks, who
gave Hudson the co-starring role in his first feature film, LEADBELLY.
Hudson accepted the starring role of Jack Jefferson
in the Minneapolis Theatre In The Round's production of THE
GREAT WHITE HOPE, a role that he put "everything he had into..."
including shaving his head.
Ernie Hudson will be best remembered to the world
as Winston Zeddemore, one of the ectoplasm-chasers in GHOST
BUSTERS (1984) and its 1989 sequel.
Hudson had alot of starring and guest roles on
such television shows as FANTASY ISLAND, THE INCREDIBLE HULK,
THE A-TEAM and WEBSTER. Ernie is the father of actor Ernie Hudson
Jr.. Hudson and his son have appeared together in the HBO series
OZ.
For several years Hudson has been a Reserve Deputy
Sheriff in the San Bernardino County (California) Sheriff's
office.
