Craig T. Nelson was born on April 4, 1944, in Spokane, Washington.

His birth name is Craig Theodore Nelson. He has also gone by the nickname, "Fish". Sometimes Craig T. Nelson is credited as Litton Mandrake and Craig Nelson.

Craig T. Nelson added the "T" as a middle initial to avoid confusion with the actor Craig Richard Nelson.

IN 1982, Craig T Nelson was cast in his first TV series, CHICAGO STORY, which lasted one season, but was better than just doing guest star roles on other people's TV series. This TV series was based on the successful 1981 TV movie by the same name, CHICAGO STORY, that he also was in, playing the same character, Kenneth A. Dutton.

In 1983, Craig T. Nelson played a football coach in the Tom Cruise drama, ALL THE RIGHT MOVES. This role led to other opportunities to play people in authority. Nelson won an Emmy and four Golden Globe nominations for playing the role of Coach Hayden Fox in the popular TV series, COACH;(1989-1997).

In 2004, Craig T. Nelson brought the animated character Mr. Incredible/Bob Parr to life in the hit movie, THE INCREDIBLES, and again in 2005, for INCREDIBLES AND PALS.
