Brittany Murphy was born on November 10, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia.
At the age of 9 Brittany Murphy first honed her acting skills
in regional theater. By age 13 Brittany Murphy had signed on
with a manager and began appearing in television commercials.
Her first commercial was for skittles.
In 1991, at the age of 13, Brittany and her mother moved to
Burbank, California where she landed her first television role
on the show BLOSSOM.
In 1995 Brittany Murphy had a major breakthrough film appearance
in CLUELESS.
Nominated for best leading female performance in the Young
Artist Awards for Brittany Murphy's role in the television film
DAVID AND LISA (1998).
During the filming of GIRL, INTERRUPTED (1999), the filmakers
had to reshoot the scene in which Winona Ryder finds her after
she commits suicide, because Winona acted the part so good,
Brittany Murphy couldn't help crying.
Murphy's vocal talents also brought to life the animated TV
character Luanne from the TV series KING OF THE HILL (1997).
In 2003 Murphy was ranked 32nd on the Maxim Hot 100 and was
on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine in 2003.
